Donation of 1200 Buddha Images by Phra Sugato Bhikkhu, to the villagers in Cumilla & Noakhali District in Bangladesh:
Phra Sugato Bhikkhu lives in Thailand, Whenever he comes to his
country he distributes different things to the people. He brought a beautiful
brass Buddha statue of less than one foot from Thailand and gave it to his
mother for worship at home. But the neighbors could not remain silent. When
Phra Sugato came to Bangladesh from Thailand, they used to ask him for Buddha
statues. He saw the respect of the people and thought that people might not
always come to the temple, If there is a Buddha statue in the house, they will
have the opportunity to worship at least in the morning and evening. And that
is why he decided to donate one Buddha statue to each house in the
Cumilla-Noakhali region. He then made 1,200 statues with the great support of
his pious devotees in Thailand brought them home and donated them to
everyone's home.
