Tipitaka (The Pali Canon) was donated by Phra Sugato Bhikkhu to all Buddhist temples in Comilla & Noakhali Districts, Bangladesh.
In the final message to the Ananda just before the Maha
Parinibbana of the Buddha, he said, “O Ananda, after the demise of the
Tathagata, the teachings (Dhamma) of the Buddha will be your teacher. Hence the
words of the Buddha contain the teachings of the Buddha which are recorded in
the books called ‘ The Holy Tripitaka’. The Holy Tripitaka is important for
practicing the teachings of the Buddha. There was no full translation of Holy
Tripitaka completed in Bengali before. At present, due to the untiring efforts
of many scholars, they have been able to translate and complete the translation
of all the books of Holy Tripitaka into Bengali. Therefore, for the study &
chanting of Holy Tripitaka by the Buddhists, especially in all the
monasteries of the Cumilla-Noakhali region, The Holy Tripitaka was donated by
Ven. Sugato Bhikkhu with Bookshelves. He also donated the Holy Tripitaka to
Bandarban, Rangamati, Chittagong, and North Bengal.
